Our future So You Think You Can Dance contestant

Tonight was Chloe's first EVER dance class. All day Chloe was so excited and beside herself in anticipation for ballerina class (what she calls dance class). Chloe decided that she wanted an all pink leotard and a pink skirt. She was in awe of her ballerina shoes and just loved how her tap shoes made noises on the hardwood at our house. As the mommy of a girly girl I have had to fall in love with all things girly and it was pretty easy falling in love with dance once I saw Chloe all dressed up and ready for ballerina class. Chloe was a little shy during the class, but did manage to do some moves without fear off messing up. Joul and I were so proud of Chloe and her ability to listen and understand the direction from her teacher.

sew mama sew

Okay, so I have been wanting to buy a sewing machine for quite a while now. However, I was hesitant on making such a huge purchase before I knew if I could even figure out this sewing thing. So, my wonderful mother has generously given me her sewing machine, accessories, and all of her fabric so that I can learn before I buy. Needless to say, I am in love with sewing. I may not be awesome at it yet, but sewing really is fun. I have already made two pairs of baby booties for Spenser! It may have taken me a while to make the first pair, like four hours, but they turned out really cute. Spenser even wore them to church on Sunday and no one asked me if he was wearing shoes that his ten year old cousin made! Oh and the only time I can really sew is during nap time for Spenser and quiet time for Chloe. So for about two hours a day I am in a wonderful sew happy dream. For those that have known me, well, known me for even ten minutes might be wondering why I would ever want to sew anything! It's simple really....I see all of these cute "hand-made" items and think to myself, "hey, I can make that." So, four to five hours later (sometimes only one or two), I accomplish what some person wanted to charge me thirty dollars for.

My loves...

The last picture is of my beautiful little girl who picked out her own outfit. She wore the shirt because she knows it is her daddy's favorite! The other pics are of Chloe and Spenser showing off the shirts I made them.

I might be crazy....

Okay so on top of digital scrapbooking and making bows for Chloe, I have decided to teach myself how to sew. Now, I don't have a sewing machine yet, so I tried sewing by hand for the first time ever! I found this really cool fabric paper that you can print from your computer printer. I designed my own fabric and then printed it out....so cool. It even feels like real fabric. So, after I printed out my fabric, I then cut out my designs and put heatnbond ultrahold on the back of the fabric. I then put the fabric onto the onesie and then did some hand sewing around the design. Just remember that this is my first time EVER to sew and I think I did a pretty good job. I have already washed the onesies and they actually held together. Some things might be uneven, however, I think that is what makes the shirts cute. Spenser loves them!
