My little ballerina

This past weekend, Chloe's dance studio held a mini recital at the studio. This was a very laid back and fun little recital for all of the kids to get comfortable performing in front of an audience. In May, there will be a big recital held in a big auditorium with costumes and big performances! (so look for that in the future!) Anyway, they had three performances that the children could participate in over the weekend. We were out of town most of the weekend celebrating Christmas with my family. So, we came back to Houston so she could perform on Sunday. No one else in her class could come to the Sunday performance, so Chloe danced ALL by herself. I thought that she would cry and not want to dance by herself, but she proved me wrong. The audience began clapping for her before she even started dancing. She had the biggest smile on her face the entire time and remembered all of the moves. She did a tap dance to a Christmas song and being the proud mommy that I am, I spent more time watching and clapping, then I did taking pictures. So, here are the few pics that I was able to take....

In two months....

Spenser--

In two months my dear boy, you will be a year old. Your daddy and I are still amazed at how fast you have grown. We are in denial that our newborn baby is now a big ten months old. Your new trick these days is pulling yourself up on anything and standing for as long as you can. Your big sister walked at ten months, so we are anxious to see if you will as well. You still adore her by the way, and cannot stand it when she leaves the room. Your favorite toys are still bouncy balls. Whenever you wake up in the morning, you crawl right over to the ball bucket and dump every single one of them out. You find your favorite bouncy ball and make your way to the hallway where the hard wood floor is. You throw your ball and watch it bounce away, and then you crawl as fast as you can to retrieve your precious toy. I just love watching you play catch with yourself! You are my little man and I am so proud to be your mommy. You now have four teeth and we worked oh so hard to get those teeth! You still prefer nursing over anything else and we find it a daily struggle to get you to eat anything else. According to you my sweet son, baby food is disgusting and you get your feelings hurt when I try to feed it to you. Your daddy, sister, and I love you so much and everyday is a new adventure with our lovely family of four.

What a month!

Okay, so not much has really happened for us this past month, but life sure does fly by when two wonderful children laugh, hug, cry, scream, crawl, and run. The Smith household has definitely changed since Spenser has started crawling. I am usually chasing after Spenser, who is chasing after Chloe, and trying to get into her room while she slams the door in his face. I am constantly struggling with Spenser to eat more than Ritz crackers and bread. I am constantly fighting with Chloe over who is really the mother in each situation that occurs during the day. However, when I feel as though everything is falling to pieces and I might just need to drive two hours just to drop them off at the grandparents house, my beautiful four year old little girl crawls into my lap and tells me that she loves me. Or, my rambunctious 9 month old (that is right...he is already nine months) sees me down the hallway and crawls as fast as he can to get to me. I never imagined that having two children would hinder me from taking showers some days or even eating a decent meal, however, the joy is amazing and the love is great with my family.
