Over the river and through the woods.....

To Grandmother's house we'll go....

Okay actually it was Mimi's and Papa's house that we visited this past weekend. My sister and her wonderful family were moving from Huntsville to Dallas and they made a one night stop in College Station, so we met them there in order to spend some much needed family and cousin time. Their son, Tyler, is a year older than Chloe and they have such a unique bond. They actually act more like brother and sister than cousins, and we are going to miss them now that they are living even farther away from us, six hours to be exact! Anyway, we had a fun night with them and we hope that they enjoy their new home! My mom recently retired from teaching preschool for over twenty years and was finally able to bring home all of her fun toys, games, books, and dress up clothes that she had accumulated over the years.

What a cutie!

Thank goodness for little girls....

After getting up with Spenser at least a hundred times last night, or so it felt like in the middle of the night, this morning Joul and I were not quite in the mood to attend church. As we lay in bed listening to Spenser sleep (finally) through the monitor we also heard (through the monitor) Chloe getting up at seven and going to the bathroom. We then heard her walking down the hallway toward our room. She pushed open our door and ran over to my side of the bed. She then asked me, "Mommy, mommy, what day is it?" In which I gladly replied, "Sunday sweetie." Chloe came back with, "yeah, I get to go to church! Mommy, I am so excited that it's church day!" Joy overcame my heart and I knew instantly why God gives us wonderful children in our lives. What a reminder to always be joyous when one can praise and worship our Savior together with other believers!

Happy Father's Day!

Joul you make our family complete and so happy. We could not function without you and we all love you so much. Thank you for working so hard so that I can stay home with our wonderful children.

We LOVE Fridays!

Joul is teaching summer school this summer which means he has been teaching non-stop since the Spring semester began. However, he is home on Friday's which makes the weeks go by so much faster. This past Friday we all got up early and headed to the store because Joul needed a new weed eater and it is always fun to pack up two kids and take them to the store. Also, around here, early in the morning is just about the only time we can go outside until after the sun starts going down. Anyway, when we got home, I fed Spenser and Chloe and Joul mowed and weed eated the yard. Of course Joul did most of the work and Chloe just ran around and played on her swing set. Then, after lunch, Joul and Chloe decided to wash the car. We ended our lovely Friday with a night at the park. It was so much fun and we just love Joul and everything that he does for our family!

sleep....

When Spenser was six weeks old, much like his older sister, he began sleeping through the night in his crib. I was able to nurse him around 11 and then put him down for a wonderful night of sleep. Lately, he has been wanting to nurse around 9 at night and then go to sleep, and this has been oh so good! He usually gets up around 6 or 7 in the morning to eat and then he usually wants to go back down in his crib for a morning nap. The rest of the day when he would get tired, he wanted to be held while he slept. Now, when he was a few months old, this was okay. However, now that he is so big and rolling around so much, it is hard to hold him the entire time he wants to take a nap. Also, I cannot sit on the couch with him for an hour or two when I have a lovely four year old who wants to play with me. When he turned five months old, I decided that it was time he learned to nap in his crib. This has been a struggle. I will usually rock him when he is tired and he will be fast asleep, then when I lay him down...he wakes up. However, I am determined to get him to take naps in his crib. The other day when he was supposed to be taking a nap, I went in to check on him because he was quiet and this is what I found....

This is not how I put him down for his nap...but he squirmed around and was playing....he is too cute! (we also had to get a bumper pad, because he rolls over and then gets his chubby legs stuck in the crib!)

My five month old....

My dear little Spenser is five months old and I just can't get enough of him. He is growing oh so fast and is loving life! When Joul and I decided to have more children, I was a little apprehensive about how I was going to love another child as much as I love our beautiful princess Chloe. However, the minute they placed Spenser on my chest, I just knew it was love at first sight.
Spenser is rolling over every chance he gets and he is finally enjoying his swing. He is not so sure about baby cereal and he has tried some veggies, however, I think he is just putting on a show for me. He still loves to watch his older sister do just about anything and will laugh at her every chance he gets. The bond between these siblings is indestructible at this point and they are joined forever! He still loves to be rocked by his mommy and loves walks in the stroller. He still prefers nursing...wait, let me correct that, he will only nurse and just thinks a bottle is a really fun toy. He absolutely loves to suck on a wet washcloth while taking a bath and he loves to touch everything!

My little Spenser Tyndale is such a joy to be around and his smile will simply melt your heart.

My little dragon slayer

Chloe has such an imagination! Thanks to her wonderful daddy, Chloe's imagination is so creative and changes daily. One day, she is a princess dancing around her unicorn cloud castle. The next day she is a robot chasing away the bad robots on robot world. Sometimes Chloe pretends to be a cowboy or even a pirate. This weekend, her and Joul decided to be dragon slayers trying to save princess Aurora (Sleeping Beauty) from the evil dragon. I just enjoy watching Chloe and Joul playing together and entering their imaginary worlds!

Gotta love that baby!

Spenser cannot get enough of that little baby in the mirror on his crib. He talks to that little baby and laughs at that little baby and he even tries to touch that baby. So cute

Seriously the funniest thing I have ever seen....

Sunday night was Chloe's mother's day out performance with her class. Now, Chloe has always been quite the performer. When she was not quite able to walk yet, she would sit on her bottom and move her body to music and the more people laughed, the more she would move. She loves to play dress up and have us take pictures and videos of her. Oh and whenever she learns a new song, everyone, and I mean everyone gets to hear her sing. She loves to be the center of attention and I love watching her. So, on Sunday night I expected her to stand next to her fellow classmates and sing along with her friends and teachers. Well, Chloe decided that she did not need stand right next to everyone, but a few feet away so that she could stand out and see her mom and dad. She also was not afraid to yell the songs...that is right...my child was one of those children....the one child that is louder than everyone else (and knows it by the way). She belted out those songs as if she was singing in front of a crowd of 10,000 people who all paid to come hear her beautiful voice. Joul and I were laughing so hard that we found it very difficult to take pictures and video our precious Chloe. I am just so proud of my beautiful Chloe Elizabeth!
