baby legs....

So now that Spenser is crawling ALL over the place, I wanted to buy him some Baby Legs . Anyway, I noticed that the Baby Legs were ten dollars per pair. So I set out to make Spenser his own version of baby legs. I found a tutorial here and bought three pairs of adult knee highs for six dollars and went to work. It only took me about twenty minutes to make all three and they are so cute! Instead of paying thirty dollars to buy three pair, I only spent six dollars and made them myself!

Because I don't want to do the dishes....

So, instead of cleaning the house during nap time today, I decided to make some more bibs for Spenser. I made one bib to match his star shoes that I made him yesterday:

Bows, Bows, Bows

Well, I finally made some time to make some more bows for Chloe:

8 Months Old

Seriously? Eight months have gone by way too fast! I am not ready for my little baby boy to be so big...However, Spenser is ready to be big and desires so much to keep up with his big sister. He wants to play with her toys, go everywhere she goes, and he really wishes he could wear the big bows she has in her hair (okay, maybe not wear them, but he sure does think they would taste good!). Spenser is oh so close to crawling. He really thinks he can crawl already and that makes for a very angry baby. He has the whole rolling thing down and can roll from one side of the room to the other in about 1.2 seconds. Spenser's personality is really beginning to take shape and it has been so neat to watch him grow. He loves to wrestle with his daddy and snuggle with his mommy. He has begun to wave to us and we get so excited when he does, which makes him do it even more. He has total separation anxiety which makes for fun and stressful church outings (which is really the only time we leave him anywhere). He still loves to nurse and is not a big fan of baby food. We have begun giving him more table foods and he seems to be interested in those a little bit more. Although Spenser, if we let him, would try to survive on nilla wafers alone, being the mean mommy that I am, I insist on him eating other things as well. Spenser has also begun to throw anything and everything he can get his hands on. However, when he begins to take his paci out of his mouth and chunk it across the room, we know that he is really mad!

This is what Spenser's hair looks like before I brush it in the morning!

Happy Birthday

Today Joul turns 28 years old and what an amazing 28 years it has been. For most of those 28 years, I was not a part of, however, I feel as though I have known Joul his entire life. He is a well respected, sincere, smart, and funny guy. He is a great and loving father whose children adore him. He is a man of God who guides our family and provides for our needs. More importantly, Joul can pick my nose and make my stomach hurt from laughter. He makes me feel beautiful even when I feel, and look, at my worst. Happy Birthday to the most wonderful Husband, Father, teacher, and friend.

Galveston

Joul and I took Spenser and Chloe to the beach in Galveston yesterday. My parents, AKA Meme and Papa, met us there and we spent a wonderful day at the beach. Chloe spent the entire time in the ocean. We forced her to get out twice: once to use the restroom and once to eat lunch. Chloe was such a natural beach girl and just loved floating in the water with the waves. Chloe could have spent ALL day at the beach, but we made her leave after only five hours! Spenser loved splashing around in the water and would giggle with delight as the waves came crashing in. Spenser is such a good baby and he was so happy the entire time. Here are a few pics of our day. I only got a few pics of Chloe because she spent most of her time too far away in the water!

Just like daddy.....

Every evening when Joul comes home, Spenser gets so excited, and by excited, I mean he kicks his legs really fast and squeals with delight. I thought it was fitting to make Spenser a tie onesie to match his daddy(Joul wears ties to work) and here it is (with matching shoes of course)......

Well, the sewing job is really awful, but it is just so darn cute, that I couldn't throw it away.

more sewing

Here are some pics of a bib and matching shoes I made for Spenser. This was the first bib I made, so there are some weird spots, but it is still cute and it actually fits Spenser!

A beach?

................................In Pasadena??

Yes, my friends, there is a beach in Pasadena. Now, this beach is nothing compared to most beaches anywhere else and it is even quite embarrassing, however, it is still a beach. A beach, that wonderful Chloe had a blast playing at. That is until, well she claims, a fish touched her legs. Now, it had rained the day before we went, so the actual sand part of the beach was quite disgusting and the ocean water was even worse. However, I do believe that even if it hadn't rained, the color of the water would still be muddy brown. Nonetheless, we had a blast at our first beach outing.
