Spenser's first fall

My son, what a boy! The other day, we were playing outside and Spenser tripped over something. He was wearing shorts, so when he went down, he scraped his knee. He kind of whimpered and looked up to me for me to pick him up. When I looked at his knee I noticed it was bleeding. I began to take him to Joul so he could clean Spenser's knee, however, when Spenser noticed he was being taken inside, he immediately wiggled out of my arms and acted as if nothing had happened. He was so cute! If this was Chloe, she would still be crying about it, and of course, unable to walk. I just love my princess and my crazy guy!
Okay, so it doesn't look that bad, but I am his mommy, and it hurt!
Helping daddy clean his knee
All better!

Dirt!

Okay, so my son officially loves dirt. It may have taken Chloe four years to give into the awesomeness that is dirt, however, she now also loves dirt. Now that the weather has been nice, we have spent a lot of time outside. The other day, I noticed that Spenser was spending a large amount of time at the end of our driveway. Now, we live at the end of a cul-de-sac, and receive no traffic. So I wasn't really worried about him playing by the street as I was the amount of time he was spending there. When I began to walk towards him, I noticed he was rubbing his paci in the dirt and then sticking the paci back in his mouth. When he noticed me, he began to giggle and started to run away. My son, he loves dirt.
A few days ago, we were all playing in the backyard while Joul did some yard work. He decided to take the hose and make a mud pit for the kids to play around in. Oh my goodness, that was a HUGE success. Of course, my beautiful princess was in a dress, and she did not hesitate sitting right down in that mud pit. Spenser ran (well as fast as a one year old can run) over to the mud and immediately started squishing his hands all in the mud and then took the liberty to place a nice glob of mud on his sister's face. Oh the joys of Spring: sunny weather, bike rides, frisbee games, and the best one of all, DIRT!

Washington on the Brazos

Over spring break, we went to College Station to spend some time with my parents and my sister and her family. On Wednesday, we decided to take the kids to Washington on the Brazos, which is considered the birth place of Texas, and have a picnic lunch there. They had a museum there with a room for kids that had all kinds of hands on activities. They also had a living farm where the kids got to play with old timey toys, hand wash clothes (really just scraps of fabric) like they use to way back in the early times, and feed chickens. We also bought Chloe a bonnet, which she wore ALL day and it was so cute! I, of course, forgot my camera and relied on my mom to take some pics of the kids.

Beautiful weather and biking fun!

Joul and I recently bought some bikes for ourselves and a bike trailer for Spenser so we can all ride bikes with Chloe. Bike riding has now become our Saturday morning activity at the park and everyone has a great time. Spenser was a little afraid of the bike trailer at first, but now he really enjoys riding along and watching the scenery. Chloe loves that now she can go as fast as she wants and Joul and I can actually keep up. Of course since I am pregnant, I don't know how much longer I will be able to ride with the family....hopefully I will be able to enjoy this activity for a few more months.

Also, the kids and I went outside this morning and the weather was beautiful. We were able to wear shorts and run around in the nice Spring weather. Of course, we were actually headed to the store, but I managed to lock my entire purse in the car...again! Luckily I was able to email Joul and he came home and unlocked the van for me. We both decided that Joul's set of van keys were now going to be left in the house because I will do this again.
